The official name of Enya is MONZEN TERRACE ENYA, with MONZEN referring to Enya being the gateway to the temple complex of Zenkoji, and TERRACE meaning ‘shining’ in Japanese.
The idea is that Enya will help brighten up the historic area around Zenkoji by bringing light. This light comes from the brightly lit terrace and from the restaurant’s happy atmosphere.
The concept of Monzen Terrace Enya was born because we wanted to make the Gateway to Zenkoji (Monzen in Japanese) Shine (Terasu) again. All are welcome to take a seat at the restaurant and help make the historic area around the temple complex come to live!
The open, spacious terrace – used a biergarten or for take-out – is what you’ll first encounter when you enter Enya. In the restaurant building, take a seat at one of the table, counter, or sofa seats. Whether you’re by yourself, with your family, or with a large group, the comfortable atmosphere and convenient layout of Enya will make you feel right at home.
The second floor is reserved for large groups. This private space can be used however you please, be it as wedding venue, company party venue, etc.
The fresh fish is brought from the Sea of Japan, and the vegetables from the farms of Iiyama. To make sure the food of ENYA is as fresh and delicious as possible, the local markets are scoured daily to find the best possible greens, meat, and fish. The stylishly arranged dishes are made so you can enjoy every bite and feast your eyes at the same time.
